bookbinding

i started learning bookbinding in june of 2025 and started collaging in the process. my goal is to make sketchbooks, the collaging is just a form of play.

first accordion book

accordion-style book made on june 14, 2025 at a bookbinding workshop hosted by the jersey city free public library's creative arts center, taught by ingrid morales. after making the book, i filled it with collages of flowers made from tissue paper.

first pamphlet book

a pamphlet sewn book made on june 28, 2025 at a bookbinding workshop hosted by the jersey city free public library's creative arts center, taught by ingrid morales. after making the book, i collaged it with an out-of-circulation book about vermeer and then airbrushed it at home.

the tomato book

a japanese stab sewn and bound book made on july 12, 2025 at a bookbinding workshop hosted by the jersey city free public library's creative arts center, taught by ingrid morales. after making the book, i collaged with bon apetit and vegnews magazines from the summer and added tissue paper to make tomatoes.
